Although AGIP has been flying to Johannesburg and George it has been mindful of the impact of carbon emissions on climate change. While keeping flying to a minimum the project has committed itself to plant trees to offset its carbon emissions. In this picture Prof Bob Mash of AGIP plants a Cape Ash with Prof Marietjie de Villiers the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Stellenbosch University and Prof Elizabeth Wasserman, Head of Microbiology.

Ethical approval of doctoral research project on AGIP for Dr Michael Pather.
   
Dr Michael Karl Pather a member of AGIP team and senior Lecturer; Division of Family Medicine and Primary Care; Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Stellenbosch will be conducting his doctoral research on: ”Bridging the gap between clinical research evidence and practice. Implementing the South African National Evidence-Based Asthma Guideline in Private and Public Practice in the Cape Metropole” His main fields of interest is Evidence Based Practice and he teaches this to undergraduate and postgraduate students in the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Stellenbosch. He has received formal ethics approval to conduct the research and will commence the main field work in January 2008.His supervisor and promoter is Professor Bob Mash who is also a member of the AGIP team.
